While these angels are widely known and sold in the crystal community as Selenite, they are technically carved from Satin Spar. We believe in complete transparency, so here is the quick difference between the two sisters of the Gypsum family

 Satin Spar Has a fibrous, silky structure that reflects light in a beautiful, shimmering "cat's-eye" effect (called chatoyancy). This is what gives these angels their gorgeous, radiant glow!

 True Selenite: Forms in clear, see-through, window-like sheets that are completely transparent.
