To put it simply all Spectrolite is Labradorite, but not all Labradorite is Spectrolite.

Think of Spectrolite as the rare, luxury version of standard labradorite. While they are the exact same mineral family (plagioclase feldspar), they look very different when the light hits them.

Here is the breakdown of the key differences:

 The Color Spectrum (The Main Difference)

 Standard Labradorite: Typically flashes only a few colors—mostly shades of blue, green, and occasionally a soft yellow. The rest of the stone can look like a dull, dark gray or greenish-black when it isn't catching the light.
